With over 100,000 residents, Broken Arrow, OK is not a sleeper town anymore.

For years it sat in the shadow of Tulsa, which is the second largest city in Oklahoma, more as a suburb. In the early 1900’s, the railroads ran by the little town, and slowly over the years, it grew into the 4th largest city in northeast Oklahoma. In 2008, Family Circle voted Broken Arrow as one of the Top Ten cities and towns in which to raise a family.

In the heartland of America, Broken Arrow would be the ideal place to raise your children. As I said, the town is located to the south side of the city of Tulsa, but only by a few miles. Surrounded by smaller towns to the south and west, these residents enjoy all the luxuries that Tulsa has to offer, plus the small town atmosphere of Broken Arrow. It’s the best of both worlds. Living in Broken Arrow is more spread out and has more of a suburb feel to it, as opposed to that of a bustling city.

There is a feeling of safety and growth here. Two of the five school districts in Oklahoma are in Broken Arrow and Union, which is a small town to the east. Tulsa Community College has branches in Broken Arrow, as does Northeastern State University, which also offers graduate degree programs. One of the largest Christian colleges in the nation, Rhema Bible College, has been influential in the community for over 50 years.

The citizens who own Broken Arrow houses have found a comfortable, all American way of life, and it is catching on. They have their problems, as every city does, but they are not the focal point. The benefits of the families that live in Broken Arrow homes are growing, as unprecedented retail and residential growth comes into the area.
